Treasure: Clever Rat's Ring and Dull Rat's Ring


These rings are again both from Demon's Souls. The stats for each ring is as follows:


Clever Rat's Ring $2,610, 8 EP

Clever Rat's Ring
A simple gold ring engraved with the seal of a small animal. Increases attack power when HP is low.
Held by Lord Rydell, known as Little Allant. There is also the Dull Rat's Ring, which forms a matching set with this ring.

Statistics: Striking Strength 6 (Accessibility: Only when less than 0 HP -50%, Magical - 10%) [12].

Dull Rat’s Ring $3,590, 11 EP

A simple gold ring engraved with the seal of a small animal. Increases defense when HP is low.
Held by Lord Rydell, known as Little Allant. There is also the Clever Rat's Ring, which forms a matching set with this ring.
Statistics:  Damage Resistance 4 (Accessibility: Only when HP is less than 0 -10%, Magical -10%)[16]

Discussion

These rings are again based somewhat on the enchantment system from Sorcery, just like in the previous treasure post. I arbitrarily decided that DR at very low HP is more important than Striking ST at very low HP when statting out these rings, thus why the Dull Rat's Ring is more important. Lord Rydell, the original owner of the rings, is legendary for stealing a magical pole weapon, and rats are often symbolic for thieves. These rings have in common that they give a large boost to either offensive capability or defensive capability in dire straits. One might change out the accessibility limitation with "Emergencies Only", but I feel this is truer to the original game mechanics.
