Cross-Post: GURPSDay Summary and Reflections

I bought and read
After the End 1 & 2 over
the weekend.
Let the GURPS times roll.

Scouring The Nooks and Crannies of GURPSVille

Any new blagos, the new hip term for a mega-microblog, or, informally, blog? Nope! So what interesting stuff is going on in the blogs anyway?
Denis' adventure project is getting right along, and I'm interested in seeing where that goes. Mitch is starting a new campaign soon, interested in seeing where that goes. Peter and Douglas have been going a bit back and forth on Fit, Very Fit, HT, and The Last Gasp. Cursed -75 points, a tumblr that hasn't been active in a while reblogged my review! Mailanka's doing some interesting stuff with powers, remixing currently existing systems in ways that are a bit more setting agnostic, catching my attention.

Other Thoughts and Self Reflection

I started spamming the Facebook GURPS group with my posts as well now. My GURPS is getting to all the social networks. I wonder if people get annoyed at the self promotion? Then again, if they joined a group about having an interest in GURPS, then having interesting things about GURPS being posted every once in awhile should be exactly what they are asking (this is presuming that what I have to say is interesting!)
My most popular post this week... was my summary of last week. Yikes! Was it that much of a boring week? Or maybe... the weekly summary is a conduit that leads others to the information they want to see! Second most popular was my GURPS Powers review. That was really hard work! And my head was totally not in it at the moment. Tied is my Walrus folk racial template, but in hindsight, I think the Cactus-Folk racial template (two places lower) was more mechanically interesting, oh well!
I know you can say quality versus quantity or what have you, but I think it's kinda interesting that if there are 36 GURPS posts this week (so far,) I account for 25% of that. My blog is a bit more shotgun and rough drafty compared to some of them, and some of my favorite blogs don't post very often at all (The Collaborative Gamer, The Science Gamer, RPG Jutsu, among many others,) but it is an interesting observation nonetheless. You can tell when you look at the type of posts on those blogs that those are the types of thoughtful post that aren't hammered out in 30 minutes to an hour just to pass the time. Well, I'm slightly over the halfway point of my self-imposed daily post challenge, I think close to 2/3 of the way actually, so I think I'll slow down my posting come that anniversary date and focus on making more substantial posts at that time.
Thanks everyone for reading and for your comments!

  1. Just finished elf and dwarf at 75pts, almost through with adventurer, and selected the forum and fan made templates I am going to be tweaking for this thing.
