Divine Favor: Visions of Judgement

Hey, good lookin.
So being a servant of a God of Information and messages, I thought of a slightly different offensive ability, which I think, flavor-wise actually exists in the vanilla Magic book somewhere, but oh well. I thoughts to myself, what if we can scare someone by showing them visions of the afterlife they are doomed to live? That might terrify them into a great stupor. Let's see what something like that might look like:

Divine Favor: Exhaustion Gas

Sleeping.
So, today a player asked for an ability to put someone to sleep with a gas cloud. I think it'll be expensive, but meh, let's try coming up with something interesting without caring about budget today because it's not going to work... I think?

Divine Favor: Great Haste, and Two Weaker Derivatives

Not really similar at all, mechanically
speaking, oh well.
This spell sounds incredible from the regular GURPS Magic book, and I think it is aligned with the worship of the cleric player in my current campaign, so I wanted to stat it out just to see how much it would cost. Let's see how that goes.

Divine Favor: Lighten Burden

It's a rock.
This was actually something of a stumper for me, but I suddenly solved the mystery, so yay. It's a bit more obtuse, and probably more expensive than the better ways to do it, but who cares!

Divine Favor: More Messenger/Rogue Abilities

We always fixate on the rogue
element, but not the messenger
element.
So, I'm just brainstorming and rapid firing a bunch of interesting Divine Favor abilities based on what catches my eye in Dungeon Fantasy 7: Clerics. My cleric player needs a non lethal takedown ability among other things, but looking at the list, there are a few other things that might be interesting and applicable as well.

Divine Favor: Gift of Tongues and Gift Of Letters

If you search for "foreign languages"
in GIS, you find a bunch of word clouds.
A bit of a continuation for my "messenger and rogues" god worshipping Divine Favor cleric is a translation of two spells from GURPS Magic that let players either speak or write any language. Let's break that down.

Divine Favor: Haste

It's just like my animes.
I have a player that is using a cleric character in my current campaign, but is serving a god that isn't the vanilla healy/thundery type of god, so I decided to stat up some abilities for her, and we discussed maybe retconning her thunderbolt for a more sneaky-beaky type of ability, but meh, that's neither here nor there. Today, I'm statting a simple ability that just seems useful, and that is that. It is based on the Haste spell from GURPS Magic, which can be found on p.142.

Review: GURPS Powers: Divine Favor

Powers with a
Social Engineering bent.
One of the weird things out of the box for me was that magic and miracles are basically the same thing with different names. GURPS is the first RPG I ever played, so I thought maybe it was a peculiarity of GURPS brand Dungeon Fantasy. I recently played D&D 5e over a weekend, and found to my dismay, the "de-facto" system plays like this as well. To me, this is a little jarring, but I can get that some people don't like learning how to do the same thing in two ways.
For people like me with such a hang-up though, we have the short, not especially expensive, and somehow unique-even-when-reusing-existing-mechanics system of Divine Favor. Let' take a look at this supplement that I very much enjoyed.

Template: Dungeon Fantasy Style Cleric - Divine Favor Edition.

I like Divine Favor because it is based on Powers, meaning it is easy to customize. This is a very quick thought on converting the Cleric template from Dungeon Fantasy 1 from a version that uses the vanilla Magic-as-skills system to one that uses Powers.

Sorcery/Divine Favor: Karmic Justice

Miracle of the black-haired witch Velka. Temporary autocounter vs. heavy damage. For each sin there is a punishment, and it is the task of Goddess Velka to define the sin, and mete out the punishment.

Finishing up the year with one of the other most mechanically complicated spells of Dark Souls, Karmic Justice. This spell builds up a powerful explosion passively as one accrues damage, and releases suddenly and violently, doing major damage to one's aggressors. Let's put it together below.
